It is being said that the capabilities and features set of the intriguing device are superb and their real power will be recognized and felt truly after several years from now. As per the new details of PlayStation 4, the specifications are definitely impressive on paper as the console is said to have a 500GB hard drive, an eight-core X86 processor and a solid Radeon graphic chip and 8GB RAM of GDDR5 memory, which is about 16 times more than that of the PlayStation 3. The quality of graphics seen in the games, which are being launched with the console already speak for themselves.
It is fair to say that these games are simply giving an idea of what could possibly be done with the hardware that’s been given to this particular console. There is an enormous difference in quality that can be seen when Battlefield 4 is compared with a launch title for the PlayStation 3 in 2006. The PlayStation 4 will go through the same process of evolution where the possibilities of even more expansive gameplay will arise because of the lifelike graphics and it will be possible to add smarter Al and even more action and characters on the screen.
Knack and Killzone: Shadow Fall are the two first-party titles published by Sony, which will be launched with the console. Apart from that, there are also some third party games that will be compatible with the console and some of them are available already. FIFA 14, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty Ghosts and Skylanders Swap Force are some of these notable titles. All these titles are quite impressive and will function well with the DualShock 4 controller that will be available with the console according to the dew details of PlayStation 4. As far as controllers are concerned, an important role will also be played by peripherals.
The new console will be compatible with the existing motion-sensored PlayStation Move controllers. However, the regular Bluetooth headsets or the PlayStation 3 controllers will not work with the device. But, it is expected that an update in the future will be able to fix this problem. Nonetheless, gamers will be able to use USB powered headsets with the console. For now, the PlayStation Camera is the shining accessory and it has to be bought separately for a cost of $60. This product is being launched by Sony in response to the Xbox Kinect sensor of Microsoft that can recognize hand gestures, body movements and voice commands.
The PS4 camera will have the ability of tracking the location of the users, depending on their environment and background. However, games will not be able to utilize that for some time. The camera has microphones built into it, which can be used for streaming and narrating the gameplay and the headset that’s included with the console can also be used. Apart from that, the new console will be able to support Blu rays and DVDs, but not CDs. It will not be able to stream directly or play MP3s either.
