Photo Art Graphics With Dye Sublimation

Dye Sublimation is a process of applying colorfully printed images to specially coated substrates using three main ingredients: a printer, sublimation inks, and a heat press. Beautifully designed graphics are an important part of the success of an item’s appearance. The sublimation inks and papers for the printer are unique in their characteristics.

The paper has a special finish on the surface that keeps the inks from soaking into the paper fibers. The inks contain the ability to convert from a solid to a gas without going through a liquid form-similar to dry ice. This ink-to-paper conversion is initiated by heat that is controlled with pressure and time. Items that produce a quality-finished product require a special coating to accept the sublimation inks. The most common specially-treated substrates are metal, ceramic cups and tiles, and items made with 100% polyester textiles.

The most unique ability with this process is that it is not necessary to print multiple items of the same image for cost efficiencies. For that reason, dye sublimation is a perfect process for printing personal photographs on single items – the ultimate way to gift the person who has everything – a photograph of a special event, person, or pet onto one mouse pad, one coffee mug, one smartphone case, one laptop bag, one pair of flip flops…

The signature product is a cuff bracelet that we call “My Hero”.  With US flag photograph background behind photo of a husband/son/daughter in the military; the bracelet proudly displays the wearer’s support of our US troops and pride of family/friends who are soldiers in the military
