Wolfenstein: The New Order Will Be Launched This Year

Back in August 2013, Bethesda had its PR and marketing manager Pete Hines announced that the first person shooter Wolfenstein: The New Order would be postponed until 2014. The game, currently brought to life in the MachineGames studio and initially scheduled for the first trimester of 2013, had its official launch date postponed.

According to Hones, the main reason why Wolfenstein: The New Order was postponed was the difficulty in developing a project in parallel for the current and future gaming consoles. Another reason for the delay was the work required for finishing touches in order to be able to integrate the multitude of elements that MachineGames has thought of. It seems that the singe player portion will not take less than 16 hours. It was also confirmed at that time that Wolfenstein: The New Order would not include a multiplayer component.

However, Bethesda has announced the official launch date last week. It seems that we can expect to buy starting with the 20th of May 2014 (for US residents), while Europe gets to buy it starting with the 23rd of May 2014. Even more, all those of you who choose to preorder Wolfenstein: The New Order will receive an invitation for the beta testing session of the new DOOM series game. To celebrate this announcement, a new game trailer was also provided.

The action of Wolfenstein: The New Order takes place somewhere in the 60s, in an alternate reality of World War II. In this scenario, the Nazi troops win the war. The hero going by the name of B.J. Blazkowicz is back on duty, responsible for leading a resistance force against the new rulers of the world. You will have to use sheer violence to stop the ruling of the Nazis which have made a powerful nation bow down before them. As an American hero, it is now your job to launch a counter-offensive attack to stop this cruel regime. You will be fighting Super soldiers and an entire army of Nazi robots.

The impressive graphics, mass destruction weapons, blood thirsty robots, devastating landscapes and just seeing that annoying swastika everywhere will make it hard to quit the game until you are exhausted. Shooters fans from all over the world, this is the game for you!
Wolfenstein: The New Order is built using the graphic engine id Tech 5 and it will be available on PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The latest news is that the game will hit 1080p at 60fps on Xbox One.
