Another Crash Takes Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Drummer With It
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of the most unfortunate bands out there. Accidents resulting in the death of the band members have been following the band since its beginning. At one point the band had disappeared completely into darkness when a plane crash had resulted in the death of 3 band members. The band had reached its peak of fame in 1970s but it was during their peak years the plane crash took place and took away 3 precious members of the band. The lead singer Ronnie, guitarist Steve and back vocalist Cassie were among the victims of the crash.
However, the recent news about the band is that Bob Burns, one of the members who founded the band, has also died in a car accident. Bob was the drummer who was with the band on its two of the most famous albums before the plane crash had occurred. The crash resulted when his car slipped away from the road and hit into a tree. The police officers who have investigated the scene have declared that Bob had died during the crash and he was not wearing a seatbelt while driving his car.
Bob was driving his car alone and the accident resulted only when his car moved away from the road. There were no other vehicles that caused the accident and weather conditions are being thought of as the main reason for accident. Bob Burns was the drummer on the most famous song from the band Sweet Home Alabama. He was lucky that he had already left the band when the airplane crash had occurred. He had to leave the band because he was tired of too many tours because the band was famous internationally during its beginning years.
Lynyrd Skynyrd had completely ended when 3 members of the band had died in the airplane crash. However, the younger brother of the first lead vocalist of the band reformed the band 11 years after the airplane crash. Ronnie Van Zant was the lead vocalist of the band before the crash and it was alongside him Bob played drums on 2 albums. After the crash it was Johnny Vant Zant who took over the responsibility of taking the band further. Bob had also performed with the band in just one performance when the band was made part of the hall of fame of Rock and Roll in 2006.
Rossington is now the only band member left from when the band had started originally. He has shared his views about Bob Burns on various online social networking platforms. He said he didn’t have words to express his grief. He said Bob was the funny guy in the band and he was the one who performed skits and make all the band members laugh. Rossington also said that he had recently visited the graves of the 3 late members of the band and passed by an old house where Bob Burns used to live. He sent his regards and blessings for the family of Bob Burns.
